In this course, you’ll work with historical documents, learn how to conduct research, and be invited to take a deeper look at letter proportions. We navigate from the rich Carolingian period to inspiring Renaissance manuscripts. You’ll learn how to make lettering variations and develop your own calligraphic style.
This course helps you break free from pre-packaged contemporary calligraphic interpretations. You’ll learn to critically engage with provided alphabets and make your own well-founded “letter” decisions independently. Through regular moments of personal feedback, you’ll have all the space you need to explore, ask questions, and progress at your own pace in your calligraphic development.

Voor mij was het de eerste maal les bij Lieve. Ik was een beetje afwachtend. Het was een ontdekking hoe er les werd gegeven op een totaal ander manier. Lieve gaat met iedere cursist persoonlijk op weg om je werk met je eigen persoonlijkheid tot een volwaardig werkstuk te maken.
Ik leer er meer dan het imiteren, creëren. Ik word daarbij niets opgedrongen, maar leer er wel om er mijn eigen ideeën in vraag te stellen.
Uitdagend, grensverleggend, actie en doen! Bijzondere waardering voor de deskundige begeleiding van ieders persoonlijk creatief en artistiek proces.
